Frequentlyspeaker reconing Asked Questions About Speaker Repair

Here are a few of the most common questions we get about speaker reconing, replacement and testing. If you don't find an answer to your problem, give us a call at 1.815.468.6801.

1. What is the best way to ship my speakers to you?

For the best results, follow these simple packing and shipping instructions:

• Take the speakers out of their enclosures by first unscrewing the bolts and then disconnecting the speaker wires and marking their polarity with masking tape (+ and -). This will ensure that when you reinstall the speakers, they will work correctly and be in phase.

• The best way to send one speaker is to cover the entire front with a piece of cardboard and then wrap it in lots of bubble wrap. If you are sending a pair of speakers, simply bolt the speakers together face-to-face using bolts or nylon ties and wrap in bubble wrap.

• DO NOT use foam peanuts as they tend to get stuck inside the speaker during shipment. They also settle too much and will not protect the speaker.

• Complete the shipping form and send it along with your speakers to:
LoudspeakersPlus, 450 S. Spruce St., Unit G, Manteno, IL 60950

• If you want to get a quick shipping estimate, weigh your speakers and go to the UPS site here or the US Post Office site here.

2. I have an 18" sub that is fried. How long will it take to get it reconed?
